PITTSBURGH, PA… Back in April, Young Noah and Plain James brought their national tour, “The Trap Theology”, to Pittsburgh, PA. Both MCs rocked the stage and brought the hype sound and unashamedly Christ-centered music to the stage. However, there was one significant difference on this tour stop, Concept Battles.
Stellar Fusion Battles opened up the show with the concept battle of “Graduate vs. Dropout”, which featured two up and comers in the concept battle arena. Se1ze played the role of Graduate, facing off with Kole Brown in the role of Dropout. Both MCs showed different strengths, which made this a unique style clash. Se1ze attacked with solid delivery and rhyming, and even threw in some humor and wit to get the crowd rocking with him. Kole Brown took some unique angles that made the audience think in a different and deeper way.
One of Kole’s unique angles was his second round focus on the themes in the classic movie “The Graduate”. On the surface these bars may have been glossed over, but there was a deeper meaning, which Kole Brown explained by saying (Note – Movie Spoiler Alert), “Looking at the character of Dustin Hoffman in “The Graduate” I begin to uncover the deeper meaning of the movie because of how Hoffman’s character ends up in the same place as he was before graduation, then begins rebelling by doing the opposite of what his parents say. Most people think it ends happy, but in all reality it’s pretty tragic. In the end, Hoffman’s not sure if he’s truly satisfied with the choice he made in running away from his parents with Elaine. He realizes that even though he rebelled, he’s still stuck in a loop of not really making choices for himself.”
On of the best things about the battle was the ability to collab with both a national tour and a piece of the local Christian Hip-Hop scene, which Stellar Fusion hopes to do more of. Founder and President 3PFD spoke on this saying, “I have to thank EMG (Escape Music Group of Pittsburgh, PA) for allowing us a space on this stage and taking a chance on something new. I also want to thank Young Noah, Plain James, and all the artists and people involved in this tour stop. It was good to do a collaborative event and show what Stellar Fusion can bring, and I hope to do more of this. To those around the country throwing Christian Hip-Hop events or bringing in national tours, hit us up, we are available for booking and would love to rock with you.”

About Stellar Fusion Battles:
Stellar Fusion Battles is the premier concept rap battle league and ministry in the world. In concept battles, as opposed to the traditional rap battle, which pits two opponents against each other in a verbal boxing match to prove who the superior MC is, concept battles requires that MCs adopt a character that represents either a vice or a virtue. Then, in a lyrical clash of punch lines, metaphors, bars, and hard hitting acapella rap, Stellar Fusion Battles brings the same intense entertainment value of battle rap that fans love. In addition, Stellar Fusion presents truth and life lessons through the themes of the battles.
